Only a year ago today I joined possibly as many as 1.3 billion other Chinese viewers all over mainland China to watch Li Na's second attempt at the grand slam title in Melbourne. This year I wake in Kuta Lombok to the news that the Chinese wonder woman is now Australian Open Champion. Bravo Li Na, (I know you read my blog). Wishing you all a peaceful and happy Australia Day and as always, thanks to a certain sister-in-law for her unwitting donation, years ago now, to my Australia Day wardrobe. |
Some gold from Li Na as reported in The Telegraph: "Max – agent – made me rich,” she started, before turning to the regular butt of her jokes, husband Jiang Shang. “Thanks to my husband, now so famous in China. He’s my hitting partner, fixes the drinks, fixes the rackets. You do a lot of jobs. Thanks a lot. You are a nice guy. You were lucky to find me.”

Yes I am back in China, but while I prepare the first installments for autumn, it's a good moment to have a graze through my just recently uploaded summer photo collection which cover my wanderings in Thailand, Bali, Lombok (the Gili Islands), and Australia.
